Lukas Weithas` artistic practice engages with rural aesthetics, tent and festival culture, and the social structures that manifest within them. He is particularly interested in notions of cultural authenticity and originality, as well as in the social forms through which these notions are produced and represented. By connecting art-historical references with contemporary forms, traditional visual languages are deconstructed and reconstructed and transferred into new contexts.
