Sabine Pigalle’s artistic practice belongs to the field of post-photography, working with the appropriation and manipulation of found images and staged photographic moments. Her works combine painting and photography, ancient and contemporary art, and figurative and abstract elements. Her artistic research focuses on the reinterpretation of myths, art history, forms of representation, and religion.

During the first French lockdown, Pigalle began her My Corona Diary series, combining historical material with contemporary topics. Her New Economy series uses images of historical and contemporary coins and explores the effects of the pandemic on economies, trade, and the art market.
